Hurricane Irma Advisory
Posted on Sep 8th, 2017

As Hurricane Irma approaches the Florida peninsula, Southwind will temporarily suspend the Covenant Restrictions on parking vehicles, including passenger vehicles, boats & trailers, Recreational Vehicles, campers, buses, overnight for the purposes of accommodating household guests of Southwind residents evacuating the more affected areas of the peninsula.
This suspension is to permit boats, trailers, RVs, etc. to park overnight in the driveways, and only passenger vehicles parked in the street. Passenger vehicles parked overnight in the street must not block traffic; violating vehicles blocking traffic may be subject to towing at the owners' expense.
Please note, this suspension is TEMPORARY, and once the affected areas are opened back up to those residents, the restriction will be enforced. Also, this is not an open invitation for any evacuees to stay in Southwind, only to those who are family members or guests of residents fleeing the storm and needing shelter at a resident's home.
No notice will be posted at the gate, and you MUST clear your arriving visitors with the Guards at the Welcome Center prior to arrival. Should you have guests coming in for ONLY THIS PURPOSE, please e-mail your Association Manager to advise of the address, affected vehicles, and expected duration of stay. Known abuses of this suspension will be enforced accordingly.
